The shirt specifically had 'FORBS 26' on the back. This refers to Carlos Forbs, Lewis's former teammate from their time together in the Manchester City academy, where they played for both the U18s and U23s.

While Lewis progressed to Manchester City's first-team squad, Forbs left the club in the summer of 2023 to join Ajax. Despite their separate career paths, Lewis and Forbs have remained good friends, evidenced by Lewis tagging Forbs in an Instagram post earlier this year. Lewis wearing the Wolves shirt is a gesture of support for his friend, who now plays for Wolves. Forbs, known for being prolific in City's academy, had a challenging first season playing senior football for Ajax.
