In the episode "Viewing Party" (Season 7), an insecure Andy Bernard is encouraged by his coworker Ryan to sneak into Gabe's room and try Gabe's "Chinese virility supplement." Andy mixes the powder into his glass of wine and drinks it down, unaware that the supplement is actually powdered seahorse.

After consuming the mixture, Andy begins to feel unwell. He approaches his eccentric coworker Creed and asks him to translate the Chinese label on the supplement bottle.

Creed responds by speaking in Chinese. While both Andy and the audience initially assume Creed is just speaking nonsense, it's revealed that despite his terrible pronunciation, Creed is actually speaking Mandarin. His translation is a crucial warning: "Don't mix seahorse with alcohol." This comes too late for Andy, who has already mixed and consumed it.
