Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank is actively seeking to strengthen his squad further before the Premier League season commences next weekend.
While the club has made three permanent signings this summer (Mathys Tel, Kota Takai, Mohammed Kudus) and secured Joao Palhinha on loan, Frank feels more work is needed, especially after a heavy 4-0 pre-season defeat to Bayern Munich.
Frank has publicly stated his desire to sign at least two new players, prioritizing a centre-back and a No. 10 attacking midfielder. The need for a No. 10 is heightened by James Maddison's ACL injury. Defensive reinforcements are sought due to Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven's limited availability last season.
Potential transfer targets include Nicolas Jackson (should Richarlison leave) and another wide player following Son Heung-min's departure. Reports strongly link Spurs with Crystal Palace duo Marc Guehi (centre-back) and Eberechi Eze (attacking midfielder/winger). Both players would count as homegrown for the Premier League squad, though they wouldn't resolve the club's lack of UEFA Champions League club-trained players.
With the UEFA Super Cup final against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday and the Premier League opener against Burnley on Saturday, August 16th, Spurs face time pressure to complete these signings before the season gets fully underway.
