Barcelona have concluded their preseason tour of Asia with a 5-0 victory in Daegu, South Korea, and are returning to Spain. As they enter the final phase of preseason, decisions regarding player futures are imminent.
While development plans are expected for young players like Guille Fernandez, Toni Fernandez, Dro Fernandez, Roony Bardghji, and Jofre Torrents, 18-year-old Hector Fort appears likely to leave. Despite spending last season with the first team, Fort received minimal playing time under manager Hansi Flick and grew frustrated. Although he previously wanted to stay, he is now reportedly open to an exit.
Barcelona favor a transfer to help clear salary limit space. According to Sport, Fort has multiple offers for both permanent deals and loans. Potential destinations include Paris FC (if their move for Hamari Traore fails), Borussia Dortmund, and AC Milan. Many loan offers come with an option to buy, including from La Liga sides promising him playing time.
Barcelona reportedly believe regular game time is essential for Fort's development this season. The club prefers to retain control over his future unless a particularly good offer arrives, and executives have assured Fort they still believe in his potential. A decision is expected soon.
Manager Hansi Flick's stance has differed from the club, with Fort receiving few opportunities last season and playing only over 45 minutes during the preseason tour. Despite Flick expressing satisfaction with Fort, it seems clear he doesn't intend to give him regular minutes next season, with Eric Garcia now the primary backup to Jules Kounde at right-back.
