Best in Class: Ravens’ New Premium Performance & Wellness Space Is Unreal

The Under Armour Performance Center, home to the Baltimore Ravens, has undergone a major offseason renovation, resulting in a newly upgraded performance and wellness space. The project, fully funded by Owner Steve Bisciotti at a cost north of $20 million, was completed in under six months—a process that typically takes 18 months.

The design was informed by conversations with players, coaches, and staff, focusing on creating more space, light, and ease of access. A key feature is a 135-foot operable glass wall with 18 sliding doors—the largest in North America—that opens directly to the practice field, flooding the training room with natural light and providing unobstructed views. This design aims to help injured players feel connected to the team during recovery, addressing previous feelings of isolation.

The renovation incorporates the concept of biophilia, using nature to aid healing. This is reflected in elements like natural wood from Estonia, chosen for its ability to handle humidity from heated pools. Among the standout features is a large skylight over a two-lane, 50-foot lap pool, flanked by a therapy pool with an underwater treadmill and cameras for movement analysis. Additional facilities include hot and cold plunge pools large enough for 20 linemen each, custom infrared saunas, and Cryotherm plunge pools.

The space also includes a fully equipped doctor’s clinic with two offices, an isolation room, and an X-ray machine for quicker medical attention. A custom “Raven Wall” etching, made of 53 gold-painted ravens—one for each player on the roster—adds a personalized touch. Soon, the facility will also house an Ammortal Machine, a $160,000 device advertised for resetting and rejuvenating the body and mind, making the Ravens only the second NFL team to have one.

According to Head Certified Athletic Trainer Adrian Dixon, the new space demonstrates the leadership’s commitment to providing players with the best resources, significantly enhancing both performance and wellness.
