Breanna Stewart, Leonie Fiebich lead dramatic Liberty comeback in win over Dream

During a New York Liberty WNBA game, Breanna Stewart used her significant wingspan to trap Atlanta Dream's Allisha Gray near the sideline. An off-balance Gray, unable to find a pass, stepped out of bounds, leading to her bouncing the ball in frustration and receiving a technical foul, which energized the Barclays Center crowd.

The Liberty trailed by 11 points at halftime, appearing lethargic and disjointed in the first half. However, a significant third-quarter resurgence, fueled by Stewart's rebounding, defense, and scoring, alongside Leonie Fiebich's timely three-pointers and aggressive shot-hunting, propelled them to a 79-72 victory.

Leonie Fiebich was crucial to the win. Responding to calls from coaches, players, and fans to shoot more, she drained back-to-back three-pointers in the third quarter to give the Liberty their first lead since the opening period. Fiebich finished with a regular-season career-high 21 points on highly efficient 8-of-9 shooting (4-for-5 from three-point range), adding four rebounds and four assists.

Breanna Stewart, playing multiple positions, recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds. The team's second-half performance marked a complete turnaround from the first half, featuring improved communication on defense, aggressive rebounding, and better shot-making.
