Drake, a Grammy and Billboard award-winning artist and avid Toronto Raptors fan, included Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant in his new song "Dog House" with Julia Wolf and Yeat. The lyrics praise Morant's athleticism, stating, "Jump like Ja Morant, she 'bout to jump, 'bout to jump."

Despite this recognition, Drake and Morant had prior tension stemming from Drake's diss track "Push Ups" during his feud with Kendrick Lamar. Although not directly named, Morant was referenced in the line, "shout out to the hooper that be bustin' out the griddy." The conflict reportedly originated from Morant's past relationship with Brooklyn Nicole, whom Drake allegedly dated, implying Morant was heartbroken over the situation.

Morant previously sided with Drake in the feud against Kendrick Lamar, commenting "stay on dat side" in response to producer Metro Boomin's post. While it is unclear if the two have resolved their issues, Drake's recent mention suggests a temporary easing of tensions.
