Future is Now for Atlanta Falcons RB Bijan Robinson

Despite veteran NFL running backs like Saquon Barkley and Derrick Henry receiving more attention and higher salaries, Atlanta Falcons' Bijan Robinson stands out due to his youth and performance. NFL Network analyst Nick Shook confirms Robinson is meeting high draft expectations, naming him to NFL.com's All-Under-25 Team after his impressive second season.

Shook highlighted Robinson's 2024 campaign, where he exceeded his rookie rushing yards by nearly 500, finishing with 1,456 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also contributed significantly in receiving with 61 catches for 431 yards and a touchdown, proving his first-round selection was justified. These achievements came despite limited quarterback play in Atlanta's offense.

Robinson's current production is viewed as just the beginning of his potential. The Falcons hope new quarterback Michael Penix Jr. will alleviate defensive pressure, creating more opportunities for explosive plays. Notably, Robinson forced 161 missed tackles on runs since 2023—second only to Derrick Henry—and led all 200-carry rushers in success rate at nearly 50% in 2024.

Ranking fourth in scrimmage yards in 2024 with 365 touches (100 more than his rookie year), Robinson showed high efficiency. The Falcons aim to further optimize his output in 2025—increasing yards and touchdowns without adding to his workload—by reducing stacked defensive fronts he faces.

Falcons receiver Drake London was omitted from the All-Under-25 list in favor of Puka Nacua and Brian Thomas Jr., but he'll have another opportunity after a full season with quarterback Penix.
