Chelsea have been actively offloading players deemed surplus to requirements, with João Félix being a prime example. After failing to meet expectations during loan spells at Barcelona and then initially at Chelsea last summer, he was subsequently loaned to AC Milan. A permanent exit from Chelsea is now confirmed.
Contrary to earlier reports suggesting advanced talks with Benfica, a significant shift occurred. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano announced that Al Nassr have agreed a deal to sign Félix from Chelsea, using his signature "here we go" confirmation. The agreement involves an initial transfer fee of €30 million plus add-ons and a substantial sell-on clause, designed to potentially meet Chelsea's total €50 million valuation in the future.
This move sees Félix join international teammate Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr. Chelsea are pleased with the deal, as it allows them to recover a significant portion of the €52 million they originally paid Atlético Madrid for the 25-year-old – something reportedly unlikely with Benfica. The club considers itself fortunate to avoid a major financial loss given Félix's recent form and acknowledges the need for greater caution in future signings.
