LOCAL COLLEGE: Messiah hands Misericordia first loss in women’s soccer

Messiah University defeated Misericordia University 3-1 in a women's soccer match on Saturday, handing Misericordia its first loss of the season. Messiah, the nation's top-ranked team, scored all three of its goals in the second half with Brittany Laird, Tahlia Lloyd, and Addi Martin each finding the net. Misericordia, ranked 4th nationally, saw its record fall to 6-1; their only goal was scored by Olivia Maniskas in the 11th minute.

In other local college soccer results, King's College defeated Wilson College 3-0. The team scored all three goals in the first half with Isabella Pacia, Maya Parker, and Madison Jellema contributing to the scoreline. Jessica Juarez provided an assist in the victory. Misericordia also secured a 3-2 win over Kean University, with Madison Lasinski scoring twice and Emily Ervin adding the decisive goal. Finally, Wilkes University rallied from a deficit to defeat Western Connecticut State 3-2 on the road, with goals from Olivia Gayoski, Emma Lautenbacher, and Taylor Bower.
