Storm’s Nneka Ogwumike surpasses Sheryl Swoopes on all-time WNBA list vs. Sky

During a recent game against the Chicago Sky, Seattle Storm's Nneka Ogwumike moved into fifth place on the WNBA's all-time steals list, surpassing basketball legend Sheryl Swoopes. She also contributed 21 points to the game, continuing to demonstrate her reputation as a strong defensive player.

In the same game, teammate Skylar Diggins-Smith also achieved a milestone by moving into sole possession of seventh place on the WNBA's all-time assists list, with a total of 1,714 assists, passing Becky Hammon.

Despite the individual achievements, the Storm have been struggling as a team recently. To bolster their defense, they acquired All-Star Brittney Sykes via trade. Ogwumike acknowledged seeing improvement in the team's performance, emphasizing the need for consistent effort, stating, "I’m seeing improvement. We just need 40 minutes of it."

The Storm currently hold an 18-18 record and are the eighth seed in the standings. Their upcoming schedule includes games against the Dallas Wings, Washington Mystics, and Indiana Fever, which are considered favorable matchups as they push to secure a playoff spot.
