Newcastle United maintain interest in signing Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt this summer, as reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Ekitike had a productive season with Frankfurt, scoring 22 goals and providing 12 assists in 48 appearances across all competitions. His performances featured an average of 4.0 shots per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga, with 38.6% on target, and a pass success rate of 75.5% in the opponent's half.
As his contract with Frankfurt runs until summer 2029, Newcastle would need to submit a significant offer to secure the 23-year-old French striker.
Ekitike's strengths include creating space for shots, playing decisive passes, and winning aerial duels due to his 1.90m frame. He is also noted for clever movement in the penalty area and has been a consistent Bundesliga scorer.
However, concerns exist about his ability to adapt to the Premier League's physicality and intensity should Newcastle sign him.
If acquired, Ekitike would add firepower to Newcastle's attack and potentially form a productive partnership with Alexander Isak. While his age suggests he is entering his peak years, manager Eddie Howe would likely need time to fully integrate and maximize his talent.
